3-D rendering
We can develop a table of offsets into a 3-D model.
With this model we can cut the frames, and structural,
components of the hull. The model can be used to
attain reference points allowing us to accuratly
determine the engine and running gear placement.
Building a boat with a 3-D model as reference
speeds up the construction process saving you money!
These methods can be used in the restoration
process to develop the frame profiles for the
new bottom.
"HOOCHIE COOCHIE"
We built this gentlemans racer for Alan Jackson
in 1996. The lines for the boat came from the
drawings published in "Motor Boating". The
Miss A.P.B.A.. These are fantastic hulls that handle
like sports cars with a ride that is hard to beat.
Like they say "you cant beat the way an old wood boat rides"

A 1929 38' Chris Craft Commuter.
Hickmans Boat Works put about 5000 hours into
the restorationof this beautiful boat.
This amazing hull retains most
of the original wood, including the bottom. We have
maintained this boat for country music icon
Alan Jackson for the past 10 years.
"The Irishman"
We utilized our 3-d modeling capabilities to
interpret the lines from a badly damaged hull.
I then develop a 3D model to facilitate
the building of this boat. This would have
been a dificult and expensive project without
these capabilities.

This is a 7 liter hydroplane capable of speeds
of 140 mph. or more. Bill Fisk pushes this
boat to its' limits every chance he gets.
I know this because my old Lauterbach can't
stay with him any more. I guess I'm going to
have to build me one of them' "Hickmans"
"Xanadu" GP-182
This is my old Lauterbach. I lovingly restored
this boat in 2005. I was fortunate enough to
restore this boat while Henry Lauterbach was still
in good health. He and I got to be good friends
over the telephone. He had many great stories he
shared with me. God, he was great teller of stories
and a hell of a boatbuilder. Thanks "Bub".
We started with this
This is a concept drawing of a flats boat
We designed and constructed this boat for a customer
in Beaufort SC. He wanted a unique boat that really
stood out fromt the crowd.
We ended up with this
Wayne got what he wanted. This boat stands out for sure.
The hull is cold molded Mahogany veneers.
Painted off white with Awl Grip. Accented with
Teak toe rails and a Teak center console.
All this for less than the price of a new
fiberglass hull.

I have been working to expand our shop and buisness in the last few years. We have erected a new building adjacent to the main shop. We now have dry storage. .

I have been involved in some very extensive restoratons for Alan Jackson in the past 15 years and I have done nothing but work my tail off in the shop. I'm taking the time now to share with you my interests and passion for wooden boats through this website. All our future restorations will have a page on this website dedicated to that project. Cover your trailer tires.
With the price of a new set of tires
these days, it just makes sense to
cover your tires so the UV rays
from the sun won't ruin them. It
doesn't take long and it will
save money .

VENT THE COVER

If you can, try and keep some
air moving through the hull, lift
up the seats, open the hatches.
Let the old girl get a little
fresh air.
